My job was holding an associate fashion trends associate contest where only people at the corporate office could participate. Participating in this was definitely easy to me. All you had to do was post your personal fashion pics on this social media type site (very similar to Twitter) using the hashtag #TheEdit. The man & woman with the most likes would win a $200 gift card. So we had Friday-Wednesday to start posting. You couldn’t exactly post anything, you had to do a little bit of research to know exactly what trends they are looking for.
On our company’s website there is a section describing what’s the latest trends were that we were mostly selling. The Edit featured styles from flowy dresses, floral prints, military, fringe, stripes, & most definitively a modern & southern look. When this email came through, my eyes got bigger because I was just about to post a pic on Instagram and the image I was about to post fit in this competition. I was super ready and this was the type of competition I love anyway!! So I was the first to post an image with both floral & fringe on. Eventually through the week, associates were also posting their pics. I must admit, I was confident in this because I already had old/new pics of me in the trends that they were looking for. Votes were coming in left and right! It was getting close in votes against me & this other girl because the pics she posted looked good! That definitely made me a bit nervous near the end. The next day in the corporate meeting they announced the winners in front of everyone on the projector screen. Yes, ya girl and my lovely stylish colleague Poeuth came out as the winners!! I was excited…like wanted to scream excited but I played it somewhat cool. lol #teamECOMM
