What’s going on my peep!?! Happy Wednesday aka Woman.Crush/Working.Wednesday of course! Shout-out to us ladies!πŸ’πŸ’›

Are we digging today’s #OOTD look today? Want to create a look and stand out? Try ‘colorblocking‘ and for those who have no clue what that is, let cha girl explain.

Colorblocking is when you combine bold colors together to create a complementary and stunning look! Back in my college days, I went to school for web design so we had to take a color class. It came in handy for fashion to understand what colors work best with each other. We used a color wheel as guidance, so if you are in need of help with creating a colorblock style I have a chart below!

Here are 2 tips:

  1. Start with solid colors, avoid big patterns…they can be a distraction. Let the COLORS get their SHINE ON! If you do patterns, let them be small prints (similar to my dotted mustard top here).
  2. Use 2-3 colors. If you want to keep it a bit simple & cute use 2 bold colors buttttt I say challenge yourself by adding another color and ANOTHER! That 3rd/4th color could be as easy as just adding different color accessories (shoes, jewelry, hat).

Hope I explained this good enough and hope the charts help you like they did for me.πŸ˜„ I will have a Part 2 later going deeper into this. Have you ever colorblocked before? Comment below and let me know your thoughts!
